section 1

It seems basic, but we often fool ourselves thinking that the opportunities afforded by: proximity proverbs 27:10, living with each other ii corinthians 7:3 i peter 3:7, meeting regularly hebrews 10:24-25 even daily acts 2:46, seeing each other ii john 1:12, thinking of each other i thessalonians 2:17, praying and giving thanks for each other ephesians 1:16 and contacting each other jude 1:3 is simply the fruit of relationships and not necessarily the sowing of genuine relationships. Mainly genuine relationships grow in the locality God has placed you ii corinthians 1:1. While not absolutely exclusive, it is emphasized in Scripture that through face-to-face interaction we are afforded the mutual building up of each other romans 1:10-12, as that is the purpose of the opportunity ephesians 5:15-16 of the time and place we have been assigned acts 17:26-27 acts 13:36. Even Christ Himself exemplified deeper, active compassion with those who He had actual literal, personal opportunity with matthew 9:36 mark 6:34.

The summary key to all these principles for building genuine relationships is the two-sided coin of Truth and Love. Where Truth is absent, Biblical Love cannot be present i corinthians 13:6 proverbs 26:28. Where Love is absent, full, Biblical Truth will only be distorted matthew 23:2-15 ephesians 4:15 acts 13:10. These two indispensably exist together, for God defines both Truth john 14:6 and Love i john 4:8 by Himself and He cannot deny Himself ii timothy 2:13. This is why it is imperative that we seek to be full of both Truth and Love.

matthew 23:2-15

"The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, 3 so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. 4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, 6 and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues 7 and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. 8 But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. 10 Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. 11 The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. 15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. 5 And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.

that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

return

romans 6:16-23

Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18 and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

return

ii corinthians 4:16-18

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

section 6

As Truth and Love are essential to genuine relationships and Truth and Love exist only in our Lord, we cannot acquire genuine relationship with others without a relationship with Jesus john 15:4-5, and you can only have a real relationship with Him if you live out His Truth with Love john 15:9-14, and it is in this very principle that is the way of genuine relationship i john 4:20-5:3 matthew 22:37-40 i samuel 20:17. So, genuine relationships will exist with those who have put Truth to Love-ing action for the sake of others i john 3:18. The Truth of genuine relationships is that to multiply your life in others you must follow Christ and persistently lay yourself down, God’s way, for others john 12:24 romans 2:7.
